Titchfield’s made it into the ‘local gems’ section of the Waitrose-run guide, despite only opening last November.
Located on Titchfield Street, the bistro was launched by Calvin Stewart and Stuart Lauder, who are both from the area and previously worked for the Meat Bar in Glasgow, and is known to locals for serving Scottish & European dishes made using local ingredients.
Calvin hopes the award will make people in the town, and further abroad, more aware of the restaurant, he told the Kilmarnock Standard: “We’re absolutely over the moon. It’s always good to get some recognition, but to get such a great response after only nine months is fantastic. We have stuck to our guns and offered something a little different than that which is available here.
“Hopefully this brings clientele to the area and helps to boost Kilmarnock as a place to go for good food.”
