The best new Glasgow restaurants to get excited about this spring

We asked Emma of Glasgow-based food blog Foodie Explorers to pick out some of the new bars and eateries we should be getting excited about over the next month or two.

It’s never quiet in Glasgow and to prove that point here are some new places for you to keep an eye out for this Spring.

Down to Earth

(351 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow)

We look at the best new Glasgow restaurants

Teasing us all with an opening date of Spring 2017, Down to Earth will bring some health to Dumbarton Road. Aiming to be the first all organic restaurant in Glasgow, they will start with locally sourced food and cold pressed juices.

Plans afoot include a greenhouse for growing their own food and a couple of wind turbines. Watch out Partick!

Surf Dogs

(49 Kilmarnock Road, Glasgow)

Surf Dogs owner Martin recently decided it was time to stop travelling the world and settle down back home.

11 Scottish restaurants loved by celebrities - including La Lanterna and The Balmoral

Tasting some of the best hot dogs around on America’s West Coast he started Surf Dogs to bring tasty hot dogs to Glasgow.

After a residence at Taste Buchanan, Surf Dogs are ready to go it along with their new venture in Shawlands.

Dal Pizzaiolo

Part of Villa Toscana next door, Dal Pizzaiolo brings yet another foodie choice to the food heaven of Finnieston.

The best places in Scotland to pick strawberries this summer

Not just a pizza joint, the site will also be a café/deli and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Epoch

(Units 6-9 Princes Square, Glasgow)

Independent restaurant Epoch are opening on the ground floor of Princes Square.

There’s not much information around, but they are seeking staff who have worked in both casual and fine dining. Opening around Easter.

Paesano west end

I’m sure you all know about Paesano in Glasgow city centre and that feeling when you hike into town to have to stand in a queue. Well hike no longer.

Paesano are soon opening a site on Great Western Road and it can’t come soon enough.

The Smokin' Fox

(6-8 Waterloo Street, Glasgow, G2 6DA)

The sister to the successful Raven bar, the newly opened The Smokin’ Fox has taken over the site of The Hope bar and restaurant just across from Central Station.

The new 'pub and scullery' is aiming to impress with it's delectable menu filled with gourmet pub grub, making it the perfect place for a post work pint and a bite to eat.

 

 

Having travelled throughout Europe, Emma and Mark set up Food and Drink Glasgow to showcase the various places that they visited whilst out and about. Covering food, drink, accommodation and events, has led to the blog being a No1 foodie blog for Glasgow.
