The Bay’s sustainable in-season fish, famous crispy chips and deliciously creamy homemade tartar sauce are no longer confined to the shores of Stonehaven as today marks the launch of The Bay on the Road, the very first kitchen on wheels for the award-winning business.
The Bay on the Road is a purpose built, fully equipped mobile kitchen which has been designed from start to finish by Calum Richardson, owner of The Bay Fish & Chips.
The mobile kitchen will have exactly the same ethos as The Bay Fish & Chips in Stonehaven and it will deliver a delicious array of the freshest, sustainably sourced produce, which is affordable, and delivered with a spark of personality. The Bay’s merchandise will also be available to purchase from the food truck, everything from branded aprons to The Bay’s bespoke batter mix.
Calum Richardson, Owner/Chef at The Bay Fish & Chips said: “Stonehaven is an ideal base for The Bay but I wanted to stretch our legs a bit and increase our accessibility – which is where the idea of The Bay on the Road came from. Combining The Bay’s offering with a food truck has always fascinated me. I love the fact that it will help me to spread the message about The Bay and it will allow me to take The Bay’s brand, products and experience all over the UK.
“I’ve taken this opportunity to promote Adam Milne to Trainee Manager to assist me on The Bay on the Road. He’s more than proven his ability over the last three years and I know he’ll be a huge asset to The Bay on the Road. It’s been a work in progress as I wanted to make sure it was perfect before I unveiled anything but now I’m thrilled to say it’s ready!”
The Bay on the Road not only offers street food but also caters for private events, parties and weddings, festivals and food markets around Scotland and the rest of the UK.
