Asda Alloa's bakery team have created a very special cake as part of celebration for the tennis star's 30th birthday.
Celebrations for the renowned tennis player, well known for spending his early years nearby in Dunblane, were marked in store with the creation of a personalised birthday cake, emblazoned with birthday messaging and a colourful image of the sport star’s face.
The party was held at the in-store café where local customers enjoyed a slice of the action as they tucked in to Asda’s own custom-made cake, complete with candles.
Steven MacFarlane, store manager at Asda Alloa, said: “Andy Murray is a bit of a national treasure, so we couldn’t let his 30th birthday pass us by without a big celebration!
“The man himself once said ‘I don’t play tournaments to come second best’, and neither do we bake cakes that are second best. I’m glad to see that colleagues and customers alike are joining the party and enjoying this fantastic cake. We wish Andy a very Happy Birthday from everyone here at the store!”
