11 places in Scotland offering cheap or free kids meals during the school holidays

The February mid term holiday, which is Monday 14 until Wednesday 16, will soon be upon us and with it, three days of the kids being off school.

If you’d like to treat them to lunches and dinners out, without breaking the bank, here are some deals and free kids meals available in Scotland.

Signature Pub Group, Edinburgh

Five of Edinburgh’s most popular family-friendly restaurants and bars have launched a ‘free’ kids’ menu in time for the February half term holidays (14th – 18th February).

McLarens on the Corner in Morningside, Cold Town House and The Black Bull in the Grassmarket, The Fountain in Fountainbridge and Badger & Co on Castle Street in Edinburgh have cooked a fresh and tasty selection of free kids’ meals for children aged up to 10 years to help encourage families to support their local independent restaurant during the school holidays and give hungry youngsters an appetite for healthy, hot meals made with local produce.

Dishes on the menu include breaded haddock goujons; Scottish beef burgers and sausages and mash showcasing some of the best locally sourced produce from around Scotland.

Local suppliers include Glasgow-based family seafood company, John Vallance; East Lothian’s John Gilmour Butchers and Crombies of Edinburgh.

Free kids’ activity packs including colouring in, puzzles and games are also up for grabs to help keep everyone entertained.

The new free kids’ menu will be available at Signature’s participating restaurants and bars all day from Monday 14th to Friday 18th February. The free kids’ menu is not available at weekends.

The free kids’ menu is available for a maximum of two children aged up to 10 years, per dining adult.

M&S Cafe

From Monday 14th February – Friday 25th February M&S Cafes in Scotland, Wales and England, Scotland are offering a free kids main, snack, fruit and drink for free when customers spend £5.

Yo! Sushi

Running through weekdays from Monday 7th – Friday 25th February, customers can pick any main, a side of edamame beans and drink from the Kids Meal Deal menu and get it completely free with a £10 adult spend.

Whilst you’re waiting for your food to hit the table, kids can let their creativity run wild with a fun colouring placemat and pencils and a dessert can be added to the offer for just £1.50.

Morrisons cafes

Edinburgh’s Kilted Donuts are popping-up at Bonnie & Wild Food Hall for Easter

Adults can choose from a range of café favourites including hand-battered fish and chips, lasagne, jacket potatoes and burgers as well as drinks such as soft drinks or coffee. For the kids, the offer includes smaller portions of chicken nuggets or macaroni cheese along with drinks such as Tropicana or milk. Children will also receive a piece of fruit and a snack alongside their main meals.

Bar and Block

If you're up early and out for breakfast, kids can eat for free at the unlimited breakfast offering at Bar and Block.

They’re also offering kids meal deals over the February holiday.

Frankie and Benny’s

Kids can tuck into a drink, main and dessert for £5.90 at Frankie and Benny’s.

The menu now also has smaller version of some of their favourite items.
