Glenmorangie House, located nearby Glenmorangie Distillery’s Highland home in Tain, has been awarded a prestigious Michelin Key, recognising the boutique hotel as an outstanding stay.
The full list was revealed earlier this month, with Glenmorangie House noted as “a very special stay” and each room described as “thoroughly luxurious”.
The Michelin Key is a new accolade from the renowned Michelin Guide, recognising the most remarkable stays at hotels and accommodations.
Each accommodation is considered according to its excellence in interior design, quality of service, experience and individuality, and a stay that reflects personality.
Glenmorangie House, which was renovated by Russell Sage Studio in 2021, offers a complete sensory experience - with a technicolour aesthetic and flavour-inspired rooms that unite luxurious accommodation with the warm hospitality of the Highlands.
The hotel offers six double en-suite rooms and three cottages, with each space taking inspiration from the distillery’s whiskies and surroundings.
Billed as a ‘boutique Highland hotel’ the house was originally used as the distillery’s corporate entertainment venue in the 1980s, but proved so popular that it was opened to guests in the late 1990s.
While it is a hotel, it feels more like a private home and, undoubtedly, a place that’s seen many brilliant parties.
Stuart Smith, head of brand homes said of the award “We’re incredibly honoured to be awarded a Michelin Key, one of the highest accolades within the hospitality industry.
“Each year, we welcome guests from around the globe and work hard to ensure every visitor enjoys a truly exceptional experience at Glenmorangie House.”
The Michelin Keys included 123 properties that, the experts say, offer the most outstanding stays throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
This inaugural British and Irish selection sees 14 hotels with Three Michelin Keys, 37 with Two Michelin Keys and 72 with One Michelin Key including three in Scotland.
