Thor's Tipi Bar to return to Edinburgh's Waverley Mall rooftop

The Tipi bar, based on Viking heritage will team up with local food and drink companies from around the city.

The bar made its debut last November in Edinburgh, and was ade up of two canvas tipis festooned with fairy lights. It also had wooden tables and benches, cosy furs and a fire pit to keep out the cold.

Speaking of its launch last year, asset manager of Waverley Mall, David Waterworth said: “We are extremely pleased to work together with Thor’s tipi bar as a fantastic addition to this year’s festivities.

“The location is right in the heart of the city centre with such fantastic travel links for visitors and locals of Edinburgh.

“This brand new pop up from Thor’s tipi bar will continue to provide a very current and relevant offering to our customers throughout the festive period and is perfect for our overall vision we are striving to achieve for our rooftop area here at Waverley Mall.”

Although many Christmas attractions and pop up bars have been approved by Edinburgh City Council, the capital’s usual festive season will not take place.

The world famous Edinburgh Hogmanay Festival was cancelled in July due to coronavirus fears and festive events will be spread across the city in order to make them as safe as possible.
