An interactive map has launched, which shows where to buy takeaway pints in the UK.

The website shows all the pubs which are offering a takeaway drinks service, making it easy to enjoy a cold pint on the go while supporting your local.

Since the start of lockdown in March, pubs have been closed to the public. Over the last few weeks however, some have reopened to offer a takeaway service ahead of being able to open again fully.

With summer now here and the weather looking good, many of us are missing a freshly poured cold pint or carefully crafted cocktail to enjoy in the sunshine.

The map, which is available on the website takeawaypints.co.uk lists over 300 pubs in the UK and Ireland, and shows what drinks are served and whether food is available at each location.

In Scotland there are a range of listings from the Highlands to the Borders, and customers can search by region making it easier to find local drinks.

If your favourite is missing, you can request to add a pub to the map. Inaccuracies can also be flagged up.

The map was started by two software developers in London, Nick and Fede, to help support pubs during the coronavirus pandemic.

Co-founder Nick spoke about the map to Metro Online saying: "We invited others to help us build out our list and realised that it was quickly growing.

“After getting some feedback from pubs that we’d helped we realised it was a pretty wonderful way for people to find local pubs that they could go out and support.

“It was probably around 40 pubs to begin with. We’re now at around 250 pubs, all of those have come from submissions or we’ve discovered them ourselves.

“The reaction so far has been great, we’ve heard from a number of pubs that its been really useful for attracting customers to their takeaway service.

“And we’ve had quite a few visitors message us to thank us for helping them find a pint near them.”

If you know one that isn’t on there, you can submit it to Nick and Fede through an online form on the website to get it added.
