St Andrews-based Eden Mill distillery, which won Scottish Gin of the Year for its Original Gin at the Scottish Gin Awards earlier this year, is an official sponsor of Hibernian FC and decided to launch a new gin in collaboration with the club.
A follow up to last year's Glory, Glory Gin, the resulting expression has been made with the help of Hibernian legends, past and present.
A spokesperson for the gin brand said: "Taking the idea of being part of a team that defines the generation, this gin is made in collaboration with Hibernian legends, past and present. We didn't want to rest on the success of Glory Glory Gin. Instead we wanted to build on the quality and progress further. Generation Hibs Gin is the latest edition of our collaborations."
The Hibs legends that helped create the gin were Tony Higgins (1970s), Jackie McNamara (1980s), Murdo MacLeod (1990s), Lewis Stevenson (2000s) and David Gray - all of whom headed to the St Andrews Gin School, Blendworks to help with the project.
Described as being "light, fruity and sweet" on the nose, and featuring notes of "juicy citrus and sweet fruit" and "peppery spice" on the palate, it's priced at £40 for a 5ocl bottle.
The Generation Hibs Gin is available to buy from Eden Mill's website, and comes with bespoke Hibernian FC and Eden Mill Tulip Glass in a Gift Box.
