The first virtual wine tasting sessions in mid-May will celebrate Earth Day 2020 - focusing on organic and biodynamic wines from France, Italy, Spain and Chile with six wines to sample from one of Scotland’s leading wine merchants, Woodwinters.

The second virtual sessions in late May will focus on small grower wines from Burgundy, Loire and Rhone in France selected by Rose from Glasgow-based Sevslo Wines.

Rose will also be joined at these virtual tastings by Sommelier and wine importer Severine Sloboda of Sevslo Wines.

Rose says: “I am delighted that Severine will be joining us to talk about the small vine growers whom she knows well.

“Severine worked in Paris, London and at Glasgow’s The Gannet restaurant as a top sommelier, before setting up her own wine importing business in Glasgow focusing on small growers from her homeland in France”.

How does it work?

Each participant will receive six bottles of wine to taste over two interactive tasting sessions (three wines at each tasting).

Rose hosts each virtual event via the Zoom app, with a presentation on each of the wines with visuals of the vineyards, regions and producers lasting 45-50 minutes.

The tone of the evenings is relaxed and fun, but tasters get the chance to learn about wine and chat direct with Rose about each wine.

Wines can be delivered to any address on mainland UK – included in the price.

Participants will also be sent tasting mats, tasting sheets and detailed information on each wine.

Rose also recommends the best cheese pairings for each wine beforehand, so participants can buy them from IJ Mellis or Erringtons cheeses to sample alongside the wines.

The wines selections include wines priced from £11 to £17 per bottle (retail) and the tastings start at 6.30pm.
