Rapscallion Soda release final seasonal flavour - S_03 Cranachan

A new fruity soda, made in Scotland by Rapscallion, is now available.

Specialist soft drinks manufacturer, Rapscallion Soda, has revealed the third flavour to their seasonal range of drinks, S_03 Cranachan.

The craft sodas, made in Glasgow, are created with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from Scottish farms.

The latest addition is S_03 Cranachan - sweet Scottish smooch, which launches on 16 September, and is the last in the Rapscallion series of seasonal flavours for 2020.

Engineered by hand in small batches, the team at Rapscallion extracts the natural flavour and aromas from Scottish fresh fruits and ingredients before relying on pressure and cooling in production to enhance the natural taste.

They then finish with carbonation to maintain consistent quality and layers of flavour in their artificial-free products.

The end result for ‘S_03 Cranachan - sweet Scottish smooch’ is a low-calorie, vegan-friendly, carbonated water infused with raspberries, toasted oats, lemon zest, star anise, raw organic cane sugar and vitamin c to create a natural Scottish soda that’s high on provenance and flavour.

Rapscallion Soda has teamed up with local producer, Stewarts of Tayside to create the tantalising new flavour which is bursting with Scottish raspberries.

Since their launch in 2016, Rapscallion has built its reputation on creating sodas that use fresh, natural ingredients with unusual taste combinations to create their low-sugar soft drinks.

Their core range includes zesty and spicy flavours; Dry Lime, Burnt Lemon and Ginger Ninja.

With an ethos centred around sustainability and a desire to shun artificial flavours and preservatives, the Scottish trailblazer is on a mission to get people across the UK drinking better-tasting drinks, which are good for you.

Gregor Leckie, founder of Rapscallion Soda, explains: “Following on from the success of our Strawberry and Rhubarb limited edition flavours, our new Cranachan release is our last seasonal flavour of 2020 and you definitely don’t want to miss it.

"The flavour perfectly captures the essence of the end Scottish Summer and the bright, light, buttery finish is sure to get your taste buds racing.

"As always at Rapscallion, we’re committed to making the best Scottish drinks you can get your hands on. Our promise is never to use artificial flavours and with our new seasonal Cranachan we’ve sourced only the finest ingredients to ensure that there is no compromise on taste.”

Liam Stewart, managing director at Stewarts of Tayside added: “We pride ourselves on growing the very best Scottish strawberries and raspberries on our family farm on the banks of the River Tay.

"It was great to work with a brand that is as unique as Rapscallion. The work that Rapscallion has done in using our berries to produce such a fantastic tasting soda makes us proud to have worked with them on the launch of their new cranachan flavour.”
