Popular Speyside whisky hotel The Craigellachie reopens with new outdoor space

One of Scotland's best known whisky hotels is opening its doors to tourists and locals again.

Popular with whisky fans, the Craigellachie Hotel in Speyside is reopening on Wednesday 15 July - and it has a new outdoor space.

Known for creating a home from home experience, the team at the Craigellachie have been working hard to introduce important safety measures are in place to improve the overall guest experience and keep the local community safe.

As part of the reopening plans, the hotel is launching a local residents members initiative for regulars, where they can visit the hotel website to sign up for their personal membership card.

The card offers ten per cent off all Craigellachie services including the Copper Dog pub, accommodation and exclusive access to upcoming events.

As well as this, the hotel has recently upgraded its outdoor offering thanks to a new heated terrace where guests can enjoy the full menu of food and drink from the Copper Dog bar and restaurant in the tranquil surroundings.

This new addition offers seating for an additional 30 guests. Inside the Copper Dog pub, there will be hand sanitising stations at every entrance and carefully monitored social distancing in place.

Additionally, there will be an option to dine in the Copper Dog private dining room.

The Quaich bar

The Quaich Bar, which boasts over 850 single malt whiskies remains closed for now, but is taking bookings for private tastings hosted by the Quaich bar manager Angus Bryce-McVay.

Angus has teamed up with whisky author and consultant Dave Broom to curate personalised tastings and create the ultimate whisky experience in the heart of the region.

The Craigellachie Hotel's managing director, Kevin Smith said: “Our team can’t wait to reopen the doors and welcome the local community back to The Craigellachie, as well as welcoming guests from further afield to beautiful Speyside.

"Our team has gone through vigorous training in preparation for reopening without compromising our friendly, home from home experience.

"The Quaich returns with a curated selection of personal tastings to suit a range of guests which Angus our bar manager has been working hard on with whisky legend Dave Broom.

"We are pleased to be offering our local community a membership discount card and hope they can enjoy the addition of our heated terrace with their favourite drinks and dishes from Copper Dog’s bar and kitchen.”
