New drinks company launches Scottish distilled CBD infused gin and spiced rum

A new drinks company is marrying two of the country's top trending spirits with CBD to create an exclusive range of Scottish distilled gins and spiced rums.

Top Beverages, which was founded in January this year, bills itself as the leading "luxury CBD (Cannabidiol) craft distiller" and has launched the two new small batch spirits under its brand ONE.

Founders Saf Ali and Nicholas Pullen, who first met in Barcelona, contract distil the spirits in Arbroath, with no more than 500 bottles created for each at a time.

The CBD Craft Gin is bottled at Navy Strength and is created using juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, orris root, elderflower, lemon peel, lime peel, a fresh Valencian orange and 10 mg of premium full spectrum CBD.

Saf said: “Our CBD Craft Gin can sit with the best gin out there in the market, with or without the CBD. Its authenticity comes through in every aspect of its robust taste, created with natural ingredients, Navy Strength ABV, and a dose of CBD. The flavours are incredible, making it a delightful beverage to savour.”

The CBD Craft Spiced Rum is also Navy Strength and is spiced with cassia bark, orange peel, ginger, Indian vanilla pods and 10 mg of premium full spectrum CBD.

Nicholas added: “Rum has been a core staple of my cocktail experiences since I was at university in the United States.

“I have yet to taste a more authentic rum where the smells of natural vanilla, nutmeg and cassia bark hit your nose immediately upon opening and carry through with you to the last sip.”

Saf added that the pair wanted to "disrupt two staid markets" in spirits and CBD, he stated: “In the spirits and CBD world everything more or less looks and feels the same, or companies are simply chasing fads.

"We embrace classic ideas of simplicity and minimalism and combine them with elegance and artistry, because we know through personal experience that consumers are willing to pay for originality and true craft quality.”

Priced at £30 for 1ooml, the pair say both spirits are made in conjunction with leading legal and food safety professionals to guarantee CBD quality, integrity and consistency as well as to meet E.U. standards relating to CBD and THC content.
