A first look inside Smashburger which opens in Glasgow today

Glasgow foodies rejoice, another burger chain is opening in the city centre. Here's everything you need to know - plus a sneak peek inside.

Smashburger, a popular American burger joint, is set to open its doors in Glasgow tomorrow (19th October) in a roll out of various UK venues this year.

Located at 165 Sauchiehall Street, the restaurant will serve up a range of burgers - including their original Smashburger, chicken burgers and veggie options - moreish sides, salads and a create your own option.

The side of fried pickles may sound a bit weird, but they are a must-try.

Inside the restaurant, which spans two floors of The Sauchiehall Building, the industrial decor has a red, black and white theme that fits in with Smashburger's branding.

There's also an open kitchen and a mix and tables and bar-style seating.

As for drinks, kids both big and small will love the self serve'freestyle' Coca-Cola soft  drinks dispenser, which holds a range of options and flavours from Fanta to Schweppes.

Häagen-Dazs milkshakes in traditional flavours are available along with shakes such Oreo.

There's also a range of ciders, wines and beers (and an alcoholic ice tea) for those that want something stronger.

Oreo doughnuts, churros with chocolate sauce and mini pots of Häagen-Dazs ice cream are part of the dessert menu, and are sure to appeal to those with a sweet tooth.
