Eight capital craft breweries have come together to launch a beer advent calendar - with £1 from each going to the Edinburgh Food Bank Project.

The new advent calendar will have 24 different craft beers all brewed in the capital and housed in a unique advent box designed by local Edinburgh illustrator Susie Wright, which features the castle, skyline and other famous landmarks.

Beer fans can expect a combination of modern Edinburgh craft beer classics plus seasonal new releases in 24, 330ml cans.

Ben Wallace of EdinburghBeer.co.uk said: “The first of its kind, The Edinburgh Craft Beer Advent Calendar brings together eight of Edinburgh’s craft breweries for Christmas.

"Beer lovers can now support their local breweries in the countdown to Christmas by plucking a new Edinburgh beer each day from this stunning box. Inside the box are twenty four selected new releases, seasonal specials and firm Edinburgh craft beer favourites.

"The Advent Boxes can be enjoyed at home or sent as a gift anywhere in the UK & NI and selected EU countries.

“We’re also delighted to be supporting Edinburgh’s Food bank Network with a £1 donation from each Advent Calendar sold.

"Craft brewing has been hit hard by lockdown in 2020 but has shown remarkable flexibility and creativity to adapt. All ten Edinburgh breweries continue to brew”

Jo Stewart, co-owner of Stewart Brewing added: "The advent box is a super idea to bring all the Edinburgh Breweries together.

"I think what we all need this Christmas is a little bit of fun and community spirit and that’s exactly what Edinburgh Beer Box has done."
