Beer Awards launched in a bid to celebrate Scotland's brewers

The Scottish Beer Awards is a new national awards programme which will celebrate Scotland’s brewing industry.

Published: January 29, 2016

An independent judging panel is currently being formed and will be chaired by Hilary Jones, former Director of S&N.

Judges will be asked to make decisions in around 15 categories covering business performance and taste at a judging session which will take place in May 2016. At the judging session the panel will be asked to give their expert opinion on both written award entries and entered beers alongside approximately 15 other panel members.

Finalists will be announced in June and winners announced on 29 September at an awards event to be held in Edinburgh.

The programme is being coordinated by the PR and events company, KDMedia, together with the backing of The Scotsman. Plans are now well underway to launch a high profile competition alongside a national media campaign which will help generate sales advantage to competing businesses.

KDMedia has been running business awards events in Scotland for 15 years and is well placed to deliver this exciting project with great success.

• The programme opens for entries on 1 March 2016. Further information will be available on www.scottishbeerawards.co.uk in due course.
