The partnership will see a special bottle of Innis & Gunn Original produced to coincide with the paperback release of the newest Rebus novel, In a House of Lies.
The bottles will be wrapped in an extract from the Edinburgh-based writer’s highly-anticipated thriller and will be available to buy from the Innis & Gunn online shop from 9am Saturday 1 June, with only 500 up for grabs.

Dougal Sharp, Innis & Gunn founder and master brewer, said: “We’re delighted to team up with Ian Rankin on such an exciting project. The Original is our flagship beer and we’re delighted to showcase it in such an interesting and unique way.
"We’ve spent years refining our craft to produce the very best beers, just as Ian has done with his novels, so this partnership really is a great fit. The limited edition packaged bottles are a celebration of Ian’s latest thriller In a House of Lies but not only that, they mark two Scottish favourites coming together.”
A self-proclaimed beer lover, Ian is famed for his bestselling Inspector Rebus novels, centred around Detective Inspector John Rebus with storylines based in and around Edinburgh, he said: “As a fan of Innis & Gunn, I’m thrilled to be working with the them to celebrate the release of my new novel In a House of Lies.
"As a writer who has spent years working on my craft, it’s easy to relate to Innis & Gunn and the years of craft and work that have gone in to creating a beer such as The Original. I’m delighted to join forces with Dougal and the team to create this limited edition take on their flagship beer.”
Edinburgh-based Ian isn’t the only famous author to endorse Innis & Gunn. Trainspotting writer Irvine Welsh famously tweeted to express his love of Innis & Gunn Lager, misspelling Innis as ‘Innes’.
The brewing team say that the blunder has become an ongoing joke between the pair, with the brand even creating a tongue-in-cheek billboard campaign.
