Hop & Hemp Brewing Co. (H & HBC) state that the innovative craft beers contain 0 per cent THC (the part that makes you high).

Describing it as a "unique product for today’s hectic lifestyle", the brewing team point out that hops and hemp are genetically related.

James da Silva, from Hop & Hemp, said: “We love beer. Sometimes maybe a little too much. That's why we made it our mission to create brews that have all the big flavours of the best craft beer, without leaving you with a sore head at your 9.a.m meeting or losing yet another Sunday.”

Costing £13 for 4 bottles, the first two beers from the collection are Easy Times IPA and Lowdown Lager. With only 0.5% ABV, H & HBC say their beers are better for you and low in calories, while the 8mg of CBD per 330ml serve will help to "take the edge off an evening".

As a reported 20 per cent of UK adults now don’t drink, and of those that do drink, 47 per cent have cut back (according to the latest British lifestyles report by Mintel), Hop & Hemp say they are giving those choosing to cut down on alcohol the chance to unwind with a few beers.

Easy Times IPA is described as a full-on IPA that delivers aromas of "grapefruit and lemonade" from the triple addition of American hops, while Lowdown Lager is a crisp, golden pilsner style lager that "hits the palate with a gentle, spicy hoppiness" followed with notes of citrus and sweetness.

Clemens Böninger from CBD experts The Drug Store, who partnered with Hop & Hemp Brew Co. to ensure that each beer contains the best-in-class, hemp-derived CBD, said: “Interest in CBD has skyrocketed this year, with many people using it within the health and wellness industry.

"It’s exciting to be incorporating it with a product as well loved as beer, and one we really believe is a natural fit.”
