A festive favourite, drinking mulled wine is one of the surest signs that Christmas is on the way.

With a rich history in European countries, the drink has been enjoyed since medieval times, and has found renewed popularity in Christmas markets in countries like Germany, Belgium and the UK.

Often described as "Christmas in a Glass", there are no shortage of bars in the capital with their own versions of this sugar and spice merrymaker.

Lets face it, there's only one place that's ever going to be at the top of this list for Christmas drinks and that has to be the European Market in Princes St Gardens.

Home to a multitude of stalls selling delicious crepes, bratwurst and of course Glühwein it's the place to go for this festive tipple.

With a floor to ceiling selection of wines, it's no surprise that this excellent little wine bar does a mean mulled wine.

And did we mention that they also have an amazing selection of cheeses? Could be the perfect after work combo.
