5 of the best places in Edinburgh for a mulled wine

A festive favourite, drinking mulled wine is one of the surest signs that Christmas is on the way.

With a rich history in European countries, the drink has been enjoyed since medieval times, and has found renewed popularity in Christmas markets in countries like Germany, Belgium and the UK.

Often described as "Christmas in a Glass", there are no shortage of bars in the capital with their own versions of this sugar and spice merrymaker.
