If you're as excited about the prospect of watching Euro 2016 as we are, then you'll want to find the best places to grab a pint or some great food and simply enjoy the games.

With that in mind, we've picked out some of our favourite bars in Glasgow with the best coverage of sporting action for you and your friends to enjoy.

Drop

main

Let's face it, Drop is the daddy of all football-orientated bars in the city, this place is pretty much designed for live sport. With three floors and fourteen 50″ TV’s - even the bar has a plethora of TVs above it covering all the action so you won't miss a thing.

The prices are pleasantly cheap, though don't go expecting a massive variety of beers or spirits, this place is no-nonsense when it comes to serving you quick and getting you back to the game.

There is a decent selection of grub, with pizzas and buffet style food items available for big groups, and plenty of big tables too.

Tip - Be warned it fills up fast so if you have a certain game in mind book a table early to avoid disappointment.

Pros - Loads of screens, great location, cheap and a great selection of foodie bites available.

Cons - Gets busy really quick so you will need to book, lack of beer and spirits variety.

The Ark

OK, so we are venturing into student territory with this one but the Ark really is a great place to watch football, not only has it got a great range of screens over two floors but it also has a massive beer garden for enjoying a pint in the sun between the games.

New bar with Scotland's largest collection of rum to open in Edinburgh

They also do a great selection of beers, including some of the best value pints of real ale you'll find outside of a Wetherspoons.

They also do a great selection of cheap eats and cracking drinks promos that will make even a defeat seem like a victory.

Tip - If you are planning on catching a lot of the games grab yourself a points card for loads of special offers on both the food and drink.

Pros - Big and small TVs covering all of the action, cheap pints and great food and a massive beer garden.

Cons - The younger crowd can get a little boisterous, it also fills up fast so again it pays to book early.

Waxy O'Connors

With Scotland not being part of the tournament - and many having an aversion to our closest neighbour - supporting Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales will probably be our best chance to enjoy that home team feel. Where better to soak up that Celtic nations craic than Waxy O'Connors, which slightly edges out the also excellent Molly Malones, due to its sheer size and availability of space and seating.

Promising great food, an extensive drinks list and an even better atmosphere (especially during the Irish and Northern Irish games) this place will be rocking during the Euros and is big enough to accommodate even the biggest parties.

Tip - Check out the food, we promise you'll love their Irish themed menu, all made using great Scottish ingredients

Pros - Huge, spacious and loads of bars to grab a seat and watch the game, great atmosphere, especially for the Ireland and Northern Ireland games.

Cons - Be careful you don't get lost as the place is huge, which may make it hard to find your friends on a busy night.

So the Australians might have strange ideas about how to play football - their version seems like a insane mix of football, rugby and backyard wrestling - but no-one can doubt their passion for sports, and more importantly, watching sports with a drink in hand.

The city-centre bar has big screens as well as small covering all the action and has plenty of room for the biggest parties, which is perfect for when your whole team wants to grab a pint after work and watch the game.

They are also possibly the only place on this list - or indeed the city - where you can sample a Kangaroo burger.

Tip - Book a table on any Friday between 5-7 for a minimum of 6 people and we will put a FREE platter of food on your table.

Pros - Massive, loads of tables, cheap drinks, loads of screens

Cons - Again not a massive range of spirits and beers, can fill up pretty quickly with students which means those who finish work later may struggle to get a seat.

Clockwork

main

Close to the home of Scottish football, Hampden Park, you'll find this cracking brewpub which has been a favourite of the southside crowd - and the Tartan Army - for many a year and for good reason.

Offering a great little beer garden, loads of screens and did we mention its own microbrewery, you'll be safe in the knowledge that the beer range here is fantastic.

It also has an awesome atmosphere on match days and the perfect places to catch the games.

Tip - check out their own brewery beers, some of them are truly excellent and are made on the premises so you know you are getting them fresh from the source and the excellent brew team.

Pros - Loads of space, beers brewed on the premises, big and small screens, great atmosphere.

Cons - The food was not great last time we were in and seems to be very hit and miss, perhaps better to grab something to eat before heading there for the games. Southside location might not suit everyone.
