Inverness Travel and Cru Holdings, which operates five bars and restaurants in Inverness and Nairn, will put 100 Christmas dinners on the tables of families struggling to make ends meet this festive season.

Managing director Scott Murray, who also sits on the board of Highland mental health charity Mikeysline, said: “2020 has been a difficult year for so many, and people’s mental wellbeing has been truly put to the test.

“At Inverness Travel and Cru Holdings, we are fortunate to be in a position where we are keeping afloat.

"Our customers have played a huge role in our survival, so we want to give something back to the Inverness and Nairn communities that have been so good to us.

“We are proud to be able to spread some festive cheer and help those in need in our communities by working in partnership with local charities, who will identify the recipients.”

Mr Murray also commended the staff at both businesses, believing the companies’ success through adversity to be a direct result of their hard work and commitment.

As a seasonal thank you, all of Inverness Travel and Cru Holdings’ 100+ staff will also be offered a Christmas dinner hamper.

Mr Murray added: “Our teams have worked tirelessly through the toughest conditions we have ever faced in business, and we have been so impressed by their dedication.

"We would normally hold a staff awards ceremony and party in January, but the current situation dictates we can’t do that.

"So, we want to say thank you to our colleagues in the best way we can just now – by providing a hearty meal for them and their families this Christmas Day.”

Any team member that does not wish to collect their Christmas meal will be able to add their portion to the allocation for charity, to provide additional meals for those in need.

Each Christmas meal box will be distributed on 23 December and will contain everything needed for a festive three-course meal.
