Supermarket chain Aldi has increased its gin liqueur range ahead of the festive season with the launch of its first ever Candy Cane Gin Liqueur. 

With demand for flavoured gins and liqueurs on the rise, with UK sales up by 457 per cent in the past year, Aldi is getting shoppers in the festive spirit early this year, by offering this Christmas themed gin liqueur for £9.99 in stores across the country.

Available in stores and online from 1st October, the special edition gin liqueur is flavoured with sweet peppermint and hints of vanilla, and is described the “perfect addition” to any Christmas party.

A spokesperson for Aldi said: “You can enjoy it neat over rocks to truly sample the rich minty flavours or mix with your tonic of choice for the ultimate festive combo.

“Providing an innovative alternative to traditional festive tipples left out for Santa, our latest Instagram-worthy spirit is expected to be a hit with our shoppers, having been handcrafted using one of the most iconic Christmas flavours.”

The latest launch follows up on the release of its first ever Gingerbread Gin Liqueur last year, which proved a hit with shoppers.
