Citizens of the Granite City can now enjoy delicious dishes from their favourite local restaurants in the comfort of their homes or offices.
The company, which was founded in London in 2013, has created 65 jobs in the city so far, and anticipates creating further jobs as it expands within the next year. Deliveroo also aims to increase the delivery area in the near future.
Caroline Hazlehurst, Deliveroo general manager, said: “We have created something unique, as we are bringing delicious dishes straight from the hands of chefs in restaurants to customers’ doors in an average of 32 minutes.
“Aberdeen is a thriving, cosmopolitan area with a diverse range of chain and independent restaurants, and we see a real appetite for our service. We want to give Aberdonians even more choice in how they can consume cuisine from this eclectic mix.
“We already have a number of great partners across the city, and we are excited to expand and widen the variety of restaurants on offer to our customers in Aberdeen.”
Customers can place their orders on the Deliveroo website for restaurants within a certain radius of their home or office, and the dishes will be delivered in 32 minutes, ensuring excellent quality.
Caroline continues: “The premise of Deliveroo is offering customers a convenient, consistent and fast service, and delivering them high quality food direct from the kitchens of local restaurants, which had not been possible previously. We give consumers the opportunity to enjoy the same standard of food as if they were actually dining in the eateries, but from the comfort of their homes of offices.”
Deliveroo in Aberdeen already has a number of high-end local restaurants on board, including The Adelphi Kitchen, CUE, Nargile, and Soul, along with premium chain restaurants such as Wagamama, YO! Sushi, Byron, and many more.
The company is now delivering restaurant cuisine to people in around 60 cities across the globe, and Aberdeen is the latest to be added to this roster. Deliveroo has celebrated steady growth of 20-25 per cent each month for the last three years.
