The Bee’s Knees is a classic prohibition era cocktail made of gin, honey and lemon.
This recipe has been shared by Martin Miller's Gin to highlight its Gin, and celebrate World Bee Day on Thursday, 20 May.
The busy bees at sustainable Bermondsey Street Bees have helped produce honey which gives the cocktail a fresh, complex, and herbaceous twist with hints of rosemary and thyme, combined with artisan honey but if you can't get that any other honey will do.
Add the gin, lemon juice and honey to a shaker with some ice (if you don’t have a shaker, a jam jar or water bottle will do).
Shake until chilled.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
The United Nations created World Bee Day in order to raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development and we are all buzzing to give this cocktail recipe a go.
