Waitrose have shared this recipe, which uses Quiquiriqui Mezcal, for a twist on the traditional margarita cocktail.

The team at Waitrose said: "A delicious smoky take on the classic tequila cocktail, this recipe brilliantly brings out the natural flavours of the tequila."

Ingredients

  • 35ml of Quiquiriqui Mezcal
  • 15ml of Merlet Trois Citrus
  • 25ml of fresh lime juice
  • 10ml agave syrup
  • Smoked Sea Salt

Method

Prepare glass for the Smoky Margarita by moistening the rim and rolling in the smoked sea salt.

Add all the ingredients into a shaker with ice.

Shake and strain into the glass over cubed ice.

Serve and enjoy!
