This Christmas cake old fashioned is a twist on the classic cocktail, with decadent layers of rum, orange liqueur and sherry and notes of walnuts and dried fruit. It is made with Diplomatico dark golden rum, Grand Marnier, Pedro Ximenez sweet sherry and a dash of walnut bitters. Serve this Christmas treat over a block of ice, with a flamed pine cone and an orange wheel garnish.

Ingredients

  • 37.5ml Diplomatico
  • 12.5ml Grand Marnier
  • 12.5ml Pedro Ximenez
  • Dash walnut bitters
  • 1 large ice cube
  • To garnish:
  • Dehydrated blood orange wheel
  • Pine cone

Method

Heads and Tales’ Christmas Cake Old Fashioned.

Pour the ingredients into a tumbler and mix.

Place a large ice cube into a short tumbler and pour the cocktail into the glass.

Garnish with a dehydrated blood orange wheel and flamed pine cone.
