Mackie’s Crisps latest flavour, Boxing Day Curry, will be sold from a range of retailers across Scotland from November.

Set for a limited run of 250,000 bags, the brand hopes to achieve more than £300,000 sales, with the flavour available in Asda, Aldi, Sainsburys, Lidl, Tesco, Wilko, TJX (TK Maxx) and Scotmid.

The 150g share bags will also be available through C J lang (Spar Scotland), Central England Co Op, Petty Wood, The Cress Company, Cotswold fayre, Springdale and the online retailer, British Corner Shop, where options for UK and worldwide shipping will open the door for global consumers to enjoy the new flavour.

After a number of tries to find its next festive flavour, with attempts to make a range of evocative combinations into the next crisp hit, Mackie’s Crisps were blown away with the development of the spiced curry crisps and felt compelled to add it to the company’s portfolio of ambitious flavours.

James Taylor, Managing Director of the Perthshire family business, said: “Mackie’s Crisps is known for its out there flavours and providing a unique consumer taste experience.

“We’re delighted to have so many stockists on board for this listing as it will allow individuals across the country to get their hands on the new flavour as it is widely accessible.

“It’s hoped the festive leftover flavour proves to be a popular choice amongst consumers in the lead up to Christmas – as you don’t often get the chance to conveniently have boxing day curry ahead of time.

“Taste is fundamental to us so we’re always interested in hearing feedback from customers. Hopefully the crisps give a satisfying and recognisable taste that helps consumers reminisce on their favourite Boxing Day memory!”

The new launch continues the brand’s tradition of providing “world-first” crisp flavours, following the footsteps of Lorne Sausage and Brown Sauce - and Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.

In addition, Mackie’s has established a range of festive flavours that return to shelves year after year, including Pigs in Blankets, Turkey and Stuffing and Gingerbread Popcorn.

New Scottish restaurants added to the Good Food Guide

The crisps will be available at the stores during the following dates: Adsa (04.11-31.12), Aldi (12.12 limited offer), Sainsburys (24.11-31.12), Lidl, Tesco (16.12-01.01) and Wilko (01.09-31.12), TJX (TK Maxx) and Scotmid are to be confirmed.

Produced at the fourth-generation Taylor factory in Errol, Perthshire, Mackie’s Crisps are dedicated to making high quality, delicious crisps and snacks.

It was formed after a joint venture between Taypack and Aberdeenshire-based Mackie’s of Scotland, renowned for its ice cream and chocolate.

Mackie’s at Taypack employs a team of 50 staff – and recently became the third best-selling premium crisp brand in Scotland following growth that bucked wider market decline.
