Those visiting Speyside this summer can now book a tour of the Macallan Distillery.

With international travel likely to be restricted for the foreseeable future, a spike in holidaying at home is on the cards.

For whisky fans, a trip to Speyside is a must - and now you can visit the historic Macallan Estate and tour the award-winning distillery once again.

Located within the beautiful landscapes in the heart of Speyside, the 485-acre Estate is home to the eye-catching distillery.

Those who visit can find out more about The Macallan’s rich heritage and dedication to mastery and craftmanship, which has made it one of Scotland’s most iconic Scotch whiskies.

As part of their visit, guests will be taken on an immersive tour through the award-winning distillery, first unveiled in 2018.

They will then enjoy a tutored tasting of carefully selected The Macallan whiskies in the Cave Priveé, a circular vault warehouse in the centre of the distillery.

Depending on the experience selected, guests also have the chance to explore the legendary River Spey, learning about the native wildlife and forests which inhabit The Estate, before enjoying a dram with The Macallan’s Ghillie.

The Macallan Estate also houses The Macallan Bar, which enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding hills of Speyside, and Elchies Brasserie, where guests will be treated to dishes created using seasonal produce.

The Macallan Boutique is also onsite, allowing guests to explore whiskies from limited collections as well as specialist gifts.

The Macallan Estate is open for general access at weekends only with a reduced selection of experiences available, ranging from £50 per person to £6,000 for up to six guests.

The team are also able to create bespoke, exclusive experiences and events on request.

Significant work has been undertaken to create a safe and welcoming environment, with social distancing, enhanced cleaning schedules and team training at the centre of re-opening plans.

In light of these measures, The Macallan Estate has been accredited by the industry standard We’re Good To Go – an official UK body which marks compliance with Covid-19 guidelines for hospitality and tourism businesses and has been awarded AA Covid Confidence status by the AA’s Hotel and Hospitality Services.
