Talisker has released a new limited-edition release, Talisker x Parley: Wilder Seas Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
This is the first product collaboration by Talisker and partner in ocean conservation, Parley for the Oceans.
Talisker is donating £3 from every bottle made to Parley initiatives that support ocean protection and preservation.
The release is restricted to a limited number of bottles, launching exclusively on Malts.com and Amazon.
Its packaging is the most innovative to date from Talisker, presented in the distillery’s first recycled-glass bottle made using biofuel.
Co-designed with Parley, the Wilder Seas bottle is beautifully designed with a ceramic decoration of topographic lines inspired by the underwater landscape of Skye's coastline.
This is the first time Talisker will release a carton-free whisky with a paper neck tag.
A peer-reviewed product carbon footprint carried out for Diageo has shown that this limited edition Talisker product sold in the UK has 85% lower GHG emissions associated with its glass bottle and 77% lower GHG emissions associated with its total packaging, in comparison to standard Talisker packaging.
This Talisker Wilder Seas Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the first ever release from the distillery finished in French Oak XO cognac casks, resulting, the team say, in a rich and complex whisky, with waves of smoke and spice that roll into sea salt.
Acclaimed whisky writer Charles Maclean described it as: “A rich, complex and tightly integrated aroma and a taste which is pure Talisker, with added dried fruitiness”.
Talisker and Parley's long-term partnership continues to support the protection and preservation of ocean ecosystems around the world.
Native to the Isle of Skye, Talisker’s home, sea forests are prime underwater habitats which cover 25% of the world's coastline and play a critical role in planetary health, but are vanishing four times faster than rainforests.
The new Talisker x Parley: Wilder Seas Single Malt Scotch Whisky will raise funds to help support vital projects to protect and preserve three of these sea forests located off the coasts of Scotland, South Africa and Chile.
In Scotland, Talisker and Parley are supporting ground-breaking scientific research in the remote Orkney Islands in Scotland by partners Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Heriot-Watt University and Blue Marine Foundation that demonstrates the vital role of sea forests in preventing climate change.
Talisker x Parley: Wilder Seas Single Malt Scotch Whisky is available to purchase exclusively from Amazon and Malts.com from the 3 May.
