The best gins in Scotland have been revealed, as the finalists in the 6th annual Scottish Gin Awards have been announced.
171 gins, created by 56 Scottish gin producers have progressing to the finals of the national competition which combines large scale taste and business assessments.
Almost 200 gin products were analysed in a wide-ranging blind tasting session carried out as part of a live event and managed by the international sensory management consultancy Cara Technology.
30 expert judges from the distilling and drinks industry were presented by flights of samples and asked to taste and assess each liquid across a range of quality standards.
The results have revealed a league table of the best tasting gins and the winners will be announced at the annual Scottish gin industry event taking part in November.
Adam Hardie, chairman of the Scottish Gin Awards and Head of Food and Drink at Johnston Carmicheal, said: “The Scottish Gin Awards 2022 is a great opportunity to celebrate the many accomplishments of our industry over the last 12 months.

The Scottish Gin Awards is one of the UK’s most comprehensive and highly regarded gin competitions as it assesses both taste and business performance.
A 41-strong judging panel consists of some of the UK’s foremost experts in gin distilling and running gin businesses.
All winners will be announced at an industry event and gourmet, gin-themed dinner on Thursday 10 November 2022 at the Glasgow Doubletree by Hilton Hotel.
