7 delicious food and drink festivals happening in Glasgow this year

The spring and summer season are always packed with tempting food and drinks festivals in the majority of cities, and Glasgow is no exception.

Here are seven upcoming local foodie events that have got our stomachs rumbling already.

Glasgow Vegan Festival

(14-15 April, Trades Hall of Glasgow, 85 Glassford Street, G1 1UH)

Entry: £3 (children under 16 free)

With 50 fantastic stalls, cookery demos and fascinating talks running throughout, this weekend-long celebration of all things vegan is sure to be both educational and delicious.

Scot Gin Fest

(21 April, Trades Hall of Glasgow, 85 Glassford Street, G1 1UH)

Tickets: £16.50

Glasgow Rum and Reggae Festival

(5 May, Barrowland Ballroom, 244 Gallowgate, G4 0TT)

Tickets: £16.09-£20.13

In early May, the Barrowlands will be transformed into paradise, as the Glasgow Rum and Reggae Festival takes over the famous venue.

After receiving a welcome rum punch, guests can taste rare rums from all over the world.

There will also be live music from reggae acts, carnival dancers and traditional Jamaican food.

The Scottish Street Food Festival

(18-20 May, Riverside Museum, 100 Pointhouse Place, G3 8RS)

Tickets: £5-£7 (children under 12 free)

Back for a second year, The Scottish Street Food Festival celebrates the country's exciting and successful street food culture.

Food trucks, restaurants, food vendors, suppliers and producers will all be selling their wares during this family-friendly festival at the iconic Riverside Museum.

Glasgow Coffee Festival

(19-20 May, The Briggait, 141 Bridgegate, G1 5HZ)

Tickets: £16.19-£24.79

Hosted by Glasgow coffee roasters, Dear Green, Glasgow Coffee Festival welcomes the major players in Scotland's speciality coffee scene.

If you're a coffee lover living in Glasgow, you can look forward to seeing all of your favourite cafes represented here.

The festival will also host the prestigious UK Brewers Cup, where baristas compete to make the best cup of coffee possible.

Eat & Drink Festival

(31 May-3 June, SEC Centre, Scottish Event Campus, Exhibition Way, Glasgow, G3 8YW)

Tickets: £12.5o (children under 16 free)

Returning to the SEC this summer, Eat & Drink Festival showcases local producers who serve everything from cocktails to street food.

Expect to see some famous chefs (including Tony Singh) showing off their skills.

Vegan Connections Festival

(10-11 August, SWG3, 100 Eastvale Place, G3 8QG)

Tickets: TBC

There aren't too many details available about this exciting West End vegan festival yet, but with an outdoor market and three performance stages planned, it looks set to be a great summer weekend.
