Dream job up for grabs as Gordon & MacPhail search for The Cairn distillery manager

A new whisky distillery is recruiting for a manager.

A dream job is available for someone with a wealth of experience in malt whisky production, who would love the opportunity to join a new distillery in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.

Fourth-generation family business Gordon & MacPhail is looking for a distillery manager to bring their skills, expertise and passion for Scotch whisky to its new The Cairn Distillery, which is being built in Craggan, known as the gateway to Speyside.

The Cairn Distillery is Gordon & MacPhail’s second whisky distillery, and is set to open in spring next year.

It will create a new single malt and is being billed as a complement to the firm’s existing distillery, Benromach in Forres, which it bought in 1993 and officially reopened in 1998.

The distillery manager will have a pivotal role to play at The Cairn Distillery which is focused on creating the next generation of whisky excellence.

They will work closely with Gordon & MacPhail’s operations director Stuart Urquhart, and the wider team, to manage site production operations, and represent the new brand in key markets.

The Cairn Distillery will include a visitor experience, tasting rooms, retail space and bistro.
