North Hop, which takes place in Inverness on 21 and 22 August, is launching the exclusive brew, which has been created by Cromarty Brewing Company at this year’s festival.

Leading Aberdeen tattoo studio, Rebel, worked with festival organisers and the brewery to create unique design for the brew, which is anticipated to appeal to both a male and a female audience due to its low ABV and fruity ingredients.

The exclusive 3.2% ABV brew, which is an Session IPA, features locally sourced raspberries and will be available to festival goers at this year's North Hop.

Visitors will be able to sample the special alcoholic beverage with a provided token, which is included in the festival ticket price, giving them an exclusive taster of the specially crafted beverage. The beer will also be available to purchase in 1/2 or 2/3 pints over the course of the two day event.

Cromarty Brewing Company, a family run business, which was launched in 2011 by Craig Middleton and his parents Chap and Jenni Middleton, has worked closely with festival organisers to ensure the brew is universally appealing.

The award-winning brewery will also have a special selection of its beers available at the festival on draught, and in bottles.

Festival director, Michelle Russell, commented: “This project with CromartyBrewing Company and Rebel has been a working progress for the past few months now, and it is fantastic to finally announce their involvements with the festival to the public ahead of the event.

“Cromarty has developed a light, fruity festival brew which will appeal to all audiences. The female attendance at North Hop last year was huge so we wanted to ensure the festival brew complimented our audience. Raspberries are in season at the moment and the sharpness of the taste compliments the light hops beautifully.

“Rebel’s festival brew design is funky and eye-catching and shows that collaboration isn’t just present in the food and drink side of the festival. It’s great to have two well-established businesses involved in this venture and I’m looking forward to see how it goes down at the festival.”

Cromarty is one of twelve breweries attending North Hop, which will run from 6pm until 12 midnight on Friday, 21 August, and from 12 noon until 6pm and 7pm until 1am on Saturday, 22 August.
