The supermarket said that the highly indulgent Rubis Chocolate Wine (£8.99, 50cl) is back this Christmas by popular demand.

A spokesperson for the chain said:  "Chocolate wine? How divine! A firm favourite amongst shoppers, this rich fortified wine is the perfect choice for anyone with a sweet tooth."

Described as having a "rich, velvety texture" with "delicious chocolate notes and a hint of sweetness", the festive wine is created by blending Tempranillo grapes with premium chocolate essences, resulting in flavours of "spice, vanilla and fresh cherries".
