Stollen is a staple for millions across the globe when they’re looking for a festive treat.
The traditional German Christmas fruit bread is usually packed with dried or candied fruits, nuts, and spices, often with a marzipan log running through the middle, symbolising baby Jesus in swaddling clothes.

Starting off not very strong, I found these to be way too soggy.
It did have a lovely flavour to it but I was expecting more marzipan though so was slightly disappointed. 3/5
This stollen has Jamaican rum soaked raisins as well as marzipan. It’s decorated with glace cherries and flaked almonds giving it a Christmas cake look.
It was a very classic and traditional stollen - this is one I did really enjoy. 4/5
These didn’t have a strong black forest flavour but they were enjoyable nevertheless.
They’re perfect for a bite-sized treat. It was very delicious and sweet. 3.5/5
This one was my favourite. A very good ratio and balance of fruit and marzipan.
It might even be the best stollen I’ve ever tried. 5/5
This loaf is full of vine fruit and candied mixed peel, with a soft marzipan centre, dipped in Jamaican rum, rolled with almonds and topped with a sweet dusting.
This one was a bit more dry but still tasted delicious nonetheless. 4/5
Despite being sweeter than a normal stollen, these tasted fantastic. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something small to serve up to guests.
The cranberry and clementine flavours are quite subtle, but they go together perfectly. 4.5/5
This was the most expensive stollen on my list. The stollen wreath had pistachio marzipan, sultanas, cranberries, glacé and sour cherries, dipped in cherry brandy liqueur. The presentation looked fantastic.
The cherry wasn’t too overpowering at all and I really enjoyed tasting it. 4.2/5
I was excited to try this one and it didn’t disappoint. The sweet dough was covered with sultanas, had marzipan with an Amaretto syrup, brown butter, cherries, and butter, rolled in roasted almonds and hazelnuts.
I’d say part of me thought it resembled more of a fruit cake rather than stollen though so that did affect my score. 3.8/5
Packing just the right amount of boozy punch, these bite-size pieces are ideal for passing around to family and friends.
This one has a really nice flavour. 3/5

This was a very nice stollen but a tad too far on the drier side for my liking.
It could’ve been better with more marzipan but, overall, I did like the flavour. 3/5
