Edinburgh's Jump Ship Brewing release new beetroot beer in support of Ukraine

A new beer from Jump Ship has been released to help raise money for the Red Cross’s humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

Jump Ship Brewing, an alcohol-free brewery based in Edinburgh, is launching a beer to support the Drinkers for Ukraine initiative, which assists with donations to the Red Cross’s humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

The beer, called RESIST, is an anti-imperial stout brewed with the addition of beetroot as a nod to the country’s popular dish borscht.

The recipe for RESIST has been developed especially for the initiative by displaced brewers across Ukraine, and all breweries across the world are invited to take part in a solidarity brew.

Jump Ship’s version of RESIST is <0.5% ABV, and is also suitable for vegans.

The beetroot used in the brew was kindly donated by City Farmshop Edinburgh, and local design agency Nevis Design were generous enough to donate their time to create the artwork for the beer.

This will be the first time a Jump Ship beer is available on draught – the brewery has only ever sold its beer in cans before now.

There will be three kegs of RESIST in pubs across the city over the month of April.

Jump Ship also intends to take part in another of Drinkers for Ukraine’s suggested activities to raise funds – an online auction. Details will be released on the brewery’s social media channels in the coming weeks.
