Here's how to get free beer in Edinburgh this week

An Edinburgh craft beer brand will take over the capital this spring with a host of pop-ups, free beer giveaways and discounts for ale lovers.

Edinburgh-based brewer, Cold Town Beer will give away free beer this week in the capital.

The move is part of a four-week-long campaign, which will see the beer brand take over popular Edinburgh city centre venues to promote its popular craft ales.

Known for its tongue in cheek ‘Cold as ****’ slogan and quirky flavoured beers, the brand will pop up in various city-centre locations over the course of the next month as part of its Edinbrrr campaign.

Its first pop-up will be outside The Huxley, just off Princes Street on Thursday 31 March.

At this time, beer lovers can get their hands on a free beer - a can of Cold Town Lager - as well as merchandise and discounts off Cold Town’s extensive range of craft ales, whilst stocks last.

Subsequent venues will remain a secret, with Cold Town teasing and revealing each new hotspot location a day or two before the next pop lands up via its social channels, with newsletter subscribers receiving early access.

Targeting the after-work crowd and commuters, Cold Town will pitch up from 4pm till 6pm every Thursday to hand out sample cans of its Cold Town Lager, Pornstar martini Ale and New England IPA but once they’re gone they’re gone.

Ed Evans, Head Brewer at Cold Town Beer said: “The Cold Town Hotspot takeover is the first big campaign we’ve run and we hope the beer-lovers of Edinburgh are ready.

"We’re excited to share our brilliant brews with our current followers and those who don’t yet know us.

"Keep a close eye on our socials to see where we’ll be popping up next to make sure you get your hands on a free can and get involved in the action!”.
