For those on a budget who don't want to scrimp on style...

Turnip & Enjoy

(Great Western Road)

pub

If you follow the site regularly, you'll already know we are massive fans of Turnip and Enjoy, and for good reason. It's the ultimate date restaurant, with unbelievable food and even better value. For the menu look out for seasonal fare such as potted ardgay venison, monkfish cheeks and Stornoway black pudding, all impeccably presented and cooked with flavour in mind.

The ambience is always perfect for a date setting - the restaurant really is pleasing to the eye - and the service is always great. Just be sure to order dessert, trust us, it'll be worth it.

For the steak lovers...

Butchershop Bar and Grill

(1055 Sauchiehall Street)

pub

Island cafe with stunning views to team up with Michelin-recommended Edinburgh restaurant for one-off supper club

Yet another Glasgow restaurant knocking it out of the park in terms of culinary delights at great prices.

Renowned for their aged cuts on the bone, the Butchershop also does some terrific things with seafood - Pan Seared Fillet of Sea Bass and Cumbrae Oysters -  and pork - Glazed Iberican Pork Cheeks - that will ensure that even those who aren't steak lovers will have a great time.

We recommend splashing out on the Tomahawk; this Flinstones sized cut of beef is perfect and sharing and will be a meal any steak lover will struggle to forget.

For those who enjoy vegetarian or vegan cuisine...

The 78

New Scottish restaurants added to the Good Food Guide

(10-14 Kelvinhaugh Street)

The 78 is  a classic pub-style eatery perfect for enjoying a casual date while enjoying some of the best vegan/vegetarian food available in Glasgow.

Tuck into the classic 78 burger, Coconut & bean chilli or a delicious Falafel platter all while enjoying the laid back atmosphere.

Best of all they also sell great vegan beer to compliment the amazing food and if you are lucky enough to be a student you'll get 25 per cent off!

For those who like to enjoy a film as well as dinner...

El Perro Negro and Ka Pao team up for kitchen takeover in Glasgow

The Grosvenor Café

(24 Ashton Lane, Hillhead)

pub

Grab a dinner and a movie for as little as £80 per couple at this unique and cool cinema café bar.

Tuck into a Valentine's menu with dishes such as chicken stuffed with Toulouse sausage and beetroot and ricotta tortellini at the Grosvenor café before enjoying some pre-movie cocktails in the Lane Bar, then head in and enjoy a great film.

• Valentine's Day offer runs from the 11th of Feb until the 16th and tickets can be bought here

For those looking for something a little different...

Electric Glen

(Davieland Road, Giffnock)

Wandering around in a cold, wet park at night might not seem like the most romantic of dates but for those of you with a sense of adventure will be duly rewarded as you cosy up and take a walk around a beautiful live light show that turns Rouken Glen park into something truly magical.

So grab yourself a torch, and an umbrella and trip the light fantastic with your favourite person.

Don't worry there is a delightful selection of local food and coffee vans - including Brownings (serving Killie pies) and Wholefoods - to feed you and keep warm.

• Electric Glen runs until the 14th and tickets can be bought here.
