From M&S to Aldi, we've rounded up the best meal deals for a cosy Valentine's night in

On Valentine’s Day, sometimes going out for dinner just doesn’t seem that appealing – especially as Storm Dennis wreaks havoc with the weather.

Maybe you’d rather look up some cooking tips and prepare a decadent meal of your own.

But if you don’t fancy cooking, the supermarkets have their very own Valentine’s Day meal deals on offer, with menus to suit every taste.

Grab one of these dine-in options, light a few candles and you’ll be all set for a romantic night in.

Aldi

What: Three courses and a side

When: Available from Tuesday 11 February

How Much: £10

Start things off with either a scallop and king prawn ramekin or some sharing bread with Camembert to get your appetite going.

For the main event, there’s 21-day matured steak, duck breast, salmon fillets, beef wellington or, the most romantic of them all, chicken “love nuggets” which come in the shape of little hearts. Awww.

Chips or cheesy mashed potato are available as sides, and you can enjoy heart-shaped pancakes to finish things off.

Asda

What: One starter, one main, two sides, a dessert and a bottle of wine.

When: Available from Thursday 6 February

How Much: £15

Everything on Asda’s menu is “Extra Special”, according to them at least.

That includes starters like roasted pepper bites, tempura prawns and runny scotch eggs, as well as mains like pork in apple sauce and chorizo macaroni cheese.

On the side, there are garlic mushrooms and mini flatbreads, with lemon tarts, caramel hearts and mango pots to finish things off with.

The Co-Op

What: One main dish plus two sides or one main, one side and one dessert

When: Available from Wednesday 12 February

How much: £6

Take your pick between a pair of British ranch steaks, an “irresistible” lasagne al forno or some equally irresistible macaroni and cheese for your main dish and pair it with skinny fries, baby potatoes or a carrot, cauliflower and broccoli mix.

And if you’re feeling like something sweet, how about a couple of melting middle chocolate pots?

Marks and Spencer

What: One starter, one main, one side, a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine

When: Available from Monday 10 February

Morrisons

What: One starter, one main, two sides, one dessert and a bottle of wine

When: Available from Monday 10 February

How much: £15

Morrissons’ deal presents you with at least four choices for every course.

For starters, there’s a salmon mouse and mushrooms stuffed with cheese and chorizo while the mains selection includes a prosciutto-wrapped chicken breast, sea salt and mint-glazed lamb shanks and Scottish smoked salmon with red pesto butter.

There’s cheesecake and profiteroles to round things off with, as well as a selection of luxurious chocolates and a whole range of wines.

Tesco

What: A starter to share, two mains, one side, one dessert and a bottle of wine or fizz

When: Available from Wednesday 12 February

How Much: £20

Start off with one of Tesco’s “finest” salmon and watercress tarts or perhaps an Italian platter.

For the main event, they’re winning the mac and cheese game with their lobster variation, while they also have chicken in champagne sauce and sirloin steak for those who are feeling decadent.

Have your potatoes crushed, chipped or dauphinoise-ed on the side, then move on to a white chocolate and raspberry pot or a chocolate brownie.
