Dunnet Bay Distillery, which was established by husband and wife team, Martin and Claire Murray, in 2012, will be offering members of the public exclusive distillery tours until the end of September.
The distillery is home to Rock Rose Gin, which was launched by the duo in August 2014.
The unique product, which will be available at North Hop on August 21 and 22 at Eden Court, Inverness, uses locally foraged botanicals Rhodiola rosea, rowan berries and pure Highland water, and was created to offer the Scottish gin market a unique tasting drink from the most Northerly distillery on mainland Scotland.
During the distillery tours, guests will learn more about the popular gin, the botanicals used within it and the distilling process. A taster of the gin will also be provided.
Rock Rose Gin, which has recently been shortlisted in the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards 2015 in the Best Drink Award, New Product Award and New Business Award categories alongside finalist, North Hop, will be available at the festival for festival goers to sample and buy.
North Hop is the Highlands first large-scale indoor craft beer festival and features over 25 food and drink exhibitors offering some of the best Scottish produce including; craft beer, ciders, gins, cocktails and street food, as well as over 24 Scottish music acts.
Jody Buchan, UK brand ambassador of Rock Rose Gin and mixologist at the trendy Edinburgh cocktail bar, Heads and Tales, will be attending the festival on behalf of the distillery, offering festival goers unique expert advice on how to garnish the gin correctly. With over ten years of experience within the drinks industry, he will utilise his knowledge of the market and discuss the hottest trends in the industry at the moment and how the craft gin can be utilised within different cocktail recipes.
Martin Murray, owner of Dunnet Bay Distillery, said: “Rock Rose Gin is delighted to be attending the North Hop festival this year and we are really looking forward to seeing how festivalgoers react to it. Jody will provide festivalgoers with his expert knowledge of the gin and garnishes which compliment it the best.”
“North Hop is a great platform for the craft spirits movement and with Rock Rose being based in Dunnet, Inverness is only a short hop away. We are really looking forward to introducing our gin to more people and look forward to hopefully welcoming some of the festival goers to our distillery in the near future.”
