A brand new Fife business is bringing a range of locally grown organic herbs, cut flowers and fresh salads to Fife Farmers Market.

Meadowsweet Organics was started in February 2015 by Rosy McLean and David Demjanovic on Falkland Estate with the aim of producing top quality organic produce for both culinary and medicinal use, whilst at the same time developing a beautiful, fertile and diverse natural environment. Rosy is training as an herbalist and will develop a range of herbal products in the future.

Rosy said: “We are looking forward to attending Fife Farmers Market and connecting with local people who enjoy our produce and sharing our story. Expect sweet peas and edible flowers!”

Tom Mitchell, Chairman of Fife Farmers Market said: “I’m delighted to welcome Meadowsweet Organics to Fife Farmers Market. It’s great to see a young couple driven by a passion to work the land in order to produce such top quality produce. Their range of flowers, herbs and salads will add to an already diverse collection of producers at Fife Farmers Market, providing further motivation for people to come along every Saturday.”

Rosy and David’s produce will be available for the first time at Kirkcaldy Farmers Market on 27 June and then at all weekly Fife Farmers Markets in future. Fife Farmers Market takes place on Saturdays at St Andrews (first Saturday of the month), Dunfermline (2nd Saturday), Cupar (3rd Saturday) and Kirkcaldy (last Saturday) in turn. The markets run from 9am to 1pm and include a range of top quality locally produced food and drink from up to 30 stallholders including cheese, smoked fish, beef, vegetables, buffalo, venison and chocolate.

Meadowsweet Organics has been provided with a free stand through a partnership with Business Gateway Fife. The stand is available and aims to support new food and drink businesses in Fife. Other new businesses interested in a Business Gateway Fife sponsored stall, available for three months at Fife Farmers Market, should visit www.businessgatewayfife.com or call 01592 858 333.
