A second seven-course Christmas lunch trip from Glasgow and Edinburgh aboard the Northern Belle, one of the world’s most luxurious trains, has been arranged after all 276 seats on the first one sold out in record time.
The train’s 1930s-style Pullman carriages – ornately decorated with hand-made tapestries, marquetry and mosaics – will be hauled by a heritage locomotive from Glasgow Central at 11.40 and Edinburgh Waverley 1.55pm on Sunday December 6.
A spokesman said: “There will be a champagne reception on board before lunch is served with wine, and to make the occasion even more magical there will even be a conjurer on board.
“This promises to be a Christmas cracker of a trip. It will get everybody on the right tracks for Christmas.
“We’ve never had a train sell out so quickly. It just goes to show how keen Scottish people are to put all the year’s bad news behind them and celebrate the festive season in style.”
Fare for the six-hour round trip is £265. For details visit the Northern Belle website or phone 01270 899681
