A new pop-up is coming to the popular Bowhouse market in Fife.

The food hub on the Balcaskie Estate in Anstruther, Fife, will be welcoming chef Jess Rose Young as she launches a changing menu of seasonal dishes to the range of fresh, local produce on offer.

Having previously worked as head chef at the prestigious Ballintaggart farm, cook school and restaurant in Perthshire, foodies in Fife will be excited to see Jess Rose Young present a weekly changing menu of culinary delights at the Bowhouse food hub.

The Jess Rose Young Pop-up at Bowhouse will feature take away dishes created using locally-sourced, fresh produce from the East Neuk of Fife, with Young divining a menu of sweet treats, bread and lunches to serve in the converted mill cafe space at Bowhouse.

To make the most of the area’s varied produce and suppliers, Young will be using flour from Scotland The Bread, grown and milled on the Balcaskie estate, for her fresh pastries and breads, as well as using organic meat prepared by Sophie Cumber at Bowhouse’s The Butchery, sourced from the Balcaskie Farm.

“After first visiting Bowhouse and helping Sophie Cumber in the Butchery, as a chef I was so inspired to have such incredible sourcing literally on the doorstep from a community of food producers!” Young said. “I fell in love with the area and people and wanted to launch a pop-up with good simple food.”

Alongside her fresh sourdough, visitors will be treated to savoury treats from Young such as spiced squash soup served with a Futtle Organic beer bread roll and pork and fennel sausage rolls. Sweet treats such as tahini blondies and coconut and gorse donuts will also feature on the menu which will change on a weekly basis.

The Jess Rose Young Pop-up will run Thursday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm this winter alongside plenty of other local stores and businesses serving up goods and groceries for locals in Fife at Bowhouse Farm, St Monans, Anstruther, Fife, KY10 2DB.
