Drams and Cams is a new whisky and photography retreat, which has been created by whisky consultant Mitch Bechard and photographer and Barrel to Bottle founder Erik McRitchie.

The retreat will take place over four days in Speyside, offering whisky fans the chance to explore the beautiful countryside where many a fine dram is made.

The unique offering will combine whisky education and tutored tastings, bespoke culinary experiences using locally sourced ingredients prepared by a private chef and some creative insight into the world of photography.

Taking place over two weekends in September, 9-12 and 16-18, Mitch hopes to bring his passion for whisky to life during this retreat, saying: "Whisky is my passion that I love to share with people. I have been doing that for the past 15 years as a whisky ambassador.

"I am always looking at new and interesting ways show people the craft and beauty of Scotch Whisky.

"Erik and I have worked on projects together in the past and his knowledge of photography combined with his passion for whisky made him the perfect partner for this experience."

The retreat will be based at the Craigellachie Lodge, which has six deluxe en-suite rooms, a fully licenced bar, large dining room and walking distance from The Craigellachie Hotel and Highlander Inn.

With only 12 places available at each weekend, the retreat is a limited yet very personal experience.

The four days will be a combination of whisky tours visiting some of the world class distilleries Speyside has to offer, whisky dinners and tastings combined with expert tuition from Eric on photography, including editing and social media.

Of the retreat, Erik said: "For the past ten years I’ve had the chance to visit and document some of the most stunning places on earth. From Africa to Asia, the remote areas of the Canadian Rockies, and all through Scotland.

"I’m passionate about capturing incredible memories and moments that make people stop in their tracks and remember just how lucky we are to call this big beautiful planet home.

"Over the years I’ve found some of my most significant joy in helping others to capture images and memories like this themselves.

"Mitch and I are working hard to combine our passions for beautiful places, beautiful whisky, and lifelong memories together on this adventure to make it something truly special."

The retreat is priced at £2,150 per person based on two people sharing a room.

This will include all meals, photography sessions, a distillery visit, a three-course paired whisky dinner and of course whisky.
