Famous for its club and 'under-18' nights, the venue on the city's Queen Street was popular with Glaswegians and controversial celebrity Charlie Sheen even spent a night there with similarly controversial footballer Paul Gascoigne.

The inside of the club and its infamous double bed were last seen by the public in 2007, now a company has revealed plans to turn the venue into offices.

The move by Carrick Properties will create 3,240 sq m of grade A accommodation spread across four upper floors at 21-41 Queen Street.

Designers at McGinlay Bell Architects are also proposing to replace the slate roof in order to boost light levels in the top floor attic space.

The architects said: “While all the new work has a modern language we have taken great care to respect the history of the existing building and context.”

In their mission statement, the architects said: "The building is not architecturally precious or special, but as a piece of memory and memorial this old building as a warehouse then nightclub belongs to a moment in time and we are interested in recording this before the building is reabsorbed back into Glasgow as a new typology. We have commissioned Dapple Photography to record the current space and this moment in time and we believe the resultant images capture a space full of decay, colour, texture and memory."

The architects then stressed that the "building should evolve into a unique solution where signs and clues from the past can be retained to help reinforce the future proposals".
