As Christmas is only a few weeks away, many of us are planning smaller celebrations than normal this year.

For those on their own or in smaller groups, these Scottish businesses are offering Christmas dinner deliveries - ideal for a hassle-free meal on the day itself.

From award-winning bacon packs for all the trimmings to restaurant quality food from all over Scotland, there's something for all no matter how large or small your festive celebrations may be.

Cail Bruich

Former Restaurant Andrew Fairlie chef Lorna McNee took over Cail Bruich as head chef back in August, and her and her team are geared up to offer Glasgow residents a five-star 'at home' dining experience this Christmas.

Posting on their Facebook page, the team said: "Despite this week’s restrictions, we are delighted to announce Cail Bruich at Christmas.

"Christmas this year may well be different but the team at Cail Bruich are excited to provide you with everything needed to take you through the festive season.

"Our festive menu has been curated using beautiful produce from our wonderful suppliers accompanied by house-made cocktails, wines, and champagnes will guarantee you a most luxurious Christmas.

"So, whether you’re after a gift to send to a loved one or your Christmas Dinner meal cooked for you, we have you covered."

Dishes on the menu include: Cail Bruich smoked salmon, red onion, caper, sourdough croutons, exmoor caviar, turkey wrapped in bacon, pork and sage stuffing, turkey gravy, and sticky gingerbread sponge, vanilla, cranberry, almond florentine, brandy anglaise.

The hamper for two, which includes a half bottle of Delamotte Brut NV Champagne is priced from £140. Extras, including lobster themidor and honey roast ham, can be added.

Kate's Bespoke Catering

Like many businesses this year, Kate's Bespoke Catering has been hit hard by the pandemic, but owners Kate and Liam McKenna are still offering some Christmas cheer, as well as helping those most in need.

Liam explains: "This year we will be selling our Christmas dinner boxes, ready for you to just pop in the oven on Christmas day.

"We hope that our community will support us and in turn we are wanting to support our community by donating the cost of a meal to the Trussell Trust for every box sold.

"Meaning your purchase will provide money for your local food bank to support people and families who at the moment cannot afford the essentials in life.

"Our target is to provide the equivalent of 250 meals to those in need this Christmas. By buying one of our prepared Christmas boxes not only are you helping us keep our staff in work, you are also supporting the local suppliers we use and providing a Christmas meal to someone in the community that is struggling.

Edinbane Lodge

The award-winning Isle of Skye hotel is offering a Christmas hamper to locals this year as well as being open for sit-in meals.

For those that want the Lodge's restaurant quality food at home, orders are being taken now for a festive menu that will be delivered in a hamper.

Edinbane Lodge's chef patron Calum has created a special menu that includes seasonal favourites made with local and seasonal produce.

Dishes include: hand dived Staffin scallops, Edinbane venison Wellington and a rich dark chocolate cremeux with Talisker whisky custard.

There is also a wine and drinks package available to be enjoyed with the festive meal.

The hamper will be available to collect on 23 December and all orders must be received by 14 December.

Mini Grill

Family owned Glasgow steakhouse Mini Grill are offering a Christmas feast, which is available for collection or home delivery.

Customers will have the choice of a Ballotine of roast turkey stuffed with apricot and chestnut stuffing, or Fillet Mignon.

Both mains are served with rosemary and thyme goose fat potatoes, haggis chipolatas, honey glazed parsnips and carrots, creamed cabbage, bacon, kale and sprouts, stuffed Yorkshire pudding and cranberry jus.

Customers can also order hand crafted bottled mulled wine (which includes a keepsake Mini Grill bottle).

The seasonal fayre can be collected, or delivered Glasgow wide. Collection and delivery is available between 2pm-8pm from Friday 4 December until Christmas Eve.

Achray House Hotel

This Perthshire hotel recently launched A Very Achray Christmas box, which includes three festive feasts for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day for £99.

There is free delivery within  a 25 mile radius of St Fillans, Perth and Edinburgh areas.

The menu includes a Christmas Eve buffet with treats such as: Pork and Cranberry Sausage Rolls, Chorizo and White Bean Stew and Festive Scotch Egg.

This is followed by a traditional Christmas dinner, then enjoy a Boxing Day breakfast with homemade granola, and everything you need for a fry up.

This family owned business in Kilmarnock are offering everything from canapes and starters to turkey with all the trimmings and dessert for delivery.

Orders must be placed by 14 December, with collection and delivery starting from 22 December,

Home-X Christmas by Nico

Back in October the team behind Six by Nico restaurants launched Home-X, an e-commerce platform that aims to bring restaurant quality food and drink experiences to homes across the UK.

Spearheaded by chef Nico Simeone and Six by Nico marketing expert Michael Sim, Home-X was created off the back of the popular Home by Nico meal service that was set up during lockdown.

The platform launched with six new food and drink brands - STEM wine club, Chateau-X, The Cheese Club, and vegan offering 24-Carrot.

Now Home-X is offering a festive party experience, to help take the stress out of cooking Christmas dinner.

This popular Edinburgh eatery is offering a seafood feast for Christmas and Hogmanay

The Christmas feast includes a four course meal or their Scottish Creeler Seafood Platter - all prepared and ready to go.

Collection is from Leftfield from 11am - 1pm on Thursday 24 December.

The WeeCOOK Kitchen in Carnoustie is offering a hot takeaway Christmas dinner specials menu as well as a set menu from 2 December until 24 December.

Cafe St Honoré

Known for its organic and Slow Food credentials, the Edinburgh restaurant run by Neil Forbes is offering a set menu for Christmas Day.

Available to collect from the restaurant in the heart of the capital, the 5-course menu coast £37.50 per person, and there’s also a veggie version.

The team re keeping it traditional with smoked trout to start and turkey with all the trimmings as the main course.

Pudding is a decadent white chocolate cheesecake with a mulled wine poached pear.

Canapés, home-made sourdough, an I.J. Mellis cheese course and Artisan Roast coffee with spiced shortbread make this a brilliant seasonal feast.

l’escargot bleu

Offering something a little different for Christmas Day, owner and chef Fred Berkmiller has sourced the best French and Scottish poultry that he will prepare, ready for the oven.

There’s free-range turkey, guinea fowl, famous Bresse chicken and ‘poulet noire’ (that Fred says is the best chicken in the world) from France, as well as birds raised closer to home in the Borders and Strathaven.

There's also roast shoulder of ham, daube of beef feather blade, whole duck confit and a range other delights from an a la carte menu.

The mini ‘fromagier' let’s you put together your own cheeseboard for the big day. Of the desserts, look out for the Christmas logs à la Francaise with candied chestnut and vanilla.

Deliveries take place around Edinburgh, or customers can collect from the restaurant on Broughton Street on Wednesday 23 and Christmas Eve.

One of Glasgow's street food markets, Dockyard Social, is offering four options for a hassle-free Christmas dinner.

There's traditional turkey with all the trimmings, beef wellington with trimmings, just all the trimmings and a vegan option.

The team said: "We’re bringing you a delicious three-course Christmas feast, all boxed up, ready to enjoy on the big day. Our boxes are designed to keep everything stress-free so that you can enjoy as much time as possible with your loved ones.

The Loveable Rogue

One of Glasgow's newest restaurants, The Loveable Rogue on Great Western Road, will be delivering Christmas dinner boxes ideal for two to share.

The Rogue Christmas boxes are available to order from now until the 15 December with two options available - 'The Rogue Christmas Dinner' and 'The Rogue Champagne Christmas Dinner'. Each box serves two and consists of a four course festive feast.

The Rogue Christmas dinner for two menu includes Jerusalem artichoke soup, beef wellington served with garlic roast potatoes, honey carrots and parsnips, pigs in blankets, braised red cabbage, chestnut and pancetta sprouts, and red wine jus.

Or there's a traditional feast with Christmas turkey with garlic roast potatoes, honey roast carrots and parsnips, pigs in blankets, braised red cabbage, chestnut and pancetta sprouts, cranberry and turkey Jus.

This option also includes I.J Mellis cheese, chutney, Stagg oatcakes; white chocolate, cranberry bread and butter pudding, orange crème anglaise; mince pies and a bottle of red or white wine.

This box is priced at £160 and includes a £10 gift voucher for The Loveable Rogue restaurant.

The Rogue Champagne Christmas dinner is priced at £185 with the same menu but includes a bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne and a £20 gift voucher.

Piggery Smokery

Aberdeenshire's self titled baconeers are offering Christmas dinner bacon kits, which are available to order now for UK delivery.

The award-winning business, which was recently crowdfunding for larger premises due to its popularity, is selling these tasty looking kits online for £35 and they include:

Award-winning Naked Toad streaky bacon, lardons, Sweet Beaver back bacon, Dark Dubhloch streaky bacon (for luxury pigs in blankets) and Wisemans' Compass back bacon featuring Christmas spices.

The Allanton Inn

This Inn in Berwickshire has a Christmas takeaway menu, which will run from 3-23 December.

Dishes on the three or two course menu include: creamy parsnip and nutmeg soup with creme fraiche and roast vegetable chips, roast turkey with all the trimmings, spiced East Coast fillet of hake and homemade Christmas pudding with brandy custard and berries.

The Allanton Inn are also offering a Christmas platter and jam jar cocktails selection, ideal for sharing.

This Glasgow restaurant is offering a Christmas night out/in, and Christmas dinner deliveries for locals to the city.

The Christmas day dinner for two includes a three course festive feast for £65 whereas the night out/in offering includes a choose your own menu of three courses for two people for £65.

East Neuk Cooks

Inspired by her elderly parents who will be celebrating Christmas on their own, Stacey Marshall who runs East Neuk Cooks, has created a Christmas dinner delivery service aimed particularly at those marking the day without their normal friends and family this year.

Located outside of St Andrews, Stacey has created an East Neuk Cooks menu that can be delivered to households across Fife on Christmas Eve.

The dishes are specially designed to be easy to reheat and include a choice of soup starters; a traditional roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings or a vegetarian mushroom and nut loaf alternative.

Pudding choices comprise a traditional Christmas pudding or chocolate Yule log. The menu for one person costs £30 including delivery.

Wedgwood The Restaurant

Wedgwood’s is one of the few independent restaurants in Scotland to offer UK wide delivery of its festive five course menu throughout December.

Featuring locally sourced Scottish ingredients this hamper is one for Scots missing a taste of home or those looking for a hassle-free Christmas.

The menu, that has been designed to finish at home (video tutorial is included), will feature locally sourced grouse ham, smoked halibut and pheasant breast (can be swapped for turkey on 24 Dec deliveries) and is priced at £125 for two.

Additional wine selections from the Wedgwood wine cellar will also be available to order.

Nationwide delivery is available Friday 11 and  18, Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 December.

Little Chartroom

Edinburgh's Little Chartroom is offering Christmas dinner deliveries, as well as a slap up meal for New Year's Eve to postcodes between EH1 and EH16.

The Christmas Day dinner includes four courses, a half bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine for £165 while the New Year's Eve meal includes five courses, a half bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine for £185.

Deliveries for Christmas Day will take place on Thursday 24 December between 9.30am and 2pm. Deliveries for new Years Eve will take place on Thursday 31 December between 9.30am and 2pm.

Shaun McCarron, co-owner of The Little Chartroom said: “We are planning a special hamper for Christmas day for two, designed for those that can’t spend the day with family or friends due to restrictions.

“Like our current takeaway and delivery offering it will be made to be finished off at home and will include everything you should need for a fantastic restaurant-standard Christmas dinner; half a bottle of Champagne, a bottle of wine, snacks, starter, turkey with all the trimmings and a pudding all done Little Chartroom style."

For the first time, Edinburgh’s ‘Contini At Home’ food and drink delivery service is now available UK-wide, including special Christmas dinner and Hogmanay deliveries, Contini Christmas hamper and Contini Panettone.

As third generation Italian Scots and leading restaurateurs, Victor and Carina Contini continue to champion independent family businesses in Scotland, bringing the flavours of Italy direct from the Italian markets that we can’t source in Scotland, like Burrata, camone tomatoes and Parmigiano Reggiano.

The Seafood Ristorante in St Andrews is offering a Christmas dinner delivery with a different this festive period.

For £55, customers can tuck into a starter of chicken and duck liver terrine with apple and pear chutney, before tucking into a sea trout wellington for two with smoked haddock and leek gratin.

The dinner finishes with a dessert of Valrhona Manjari chocolate fondant with vanilla crème fraiche.

Extras such as Tayport Distillery Wild Rose Gin, prosecco, St Andrews farmhouse cheddar and John Ross of Aberdeen smoked salmon can be added to an order with no extra delivery charges.

One of the hardest places to get a table in Edinburgh, Aizle is run by ex-Gordon Ramsay and Sandy Lane chef Stuart Ralston.

Stuart has devised a Christmas dinner for one (ideal for self-isolators or those just wanting some peace and quiet) or more.

The three course menu, with house rolls and home-made butter and petit fours includes a starter of prawn, smoked trout and crab, Marie rose sauce, avocado, gem lettuce; Ballotine of duck and sausage stuffing with truffled potato gratin, parsnips, sage butter and pickled raisins, charred carrots, dates and tamarind, Brussel’s sprouts, bacon and lemon breadcrumb, pear and cranberry mostarda sauce and a Pumpkin tart, pecan praline, Chantilly cream.

Christmas Dinner is priced at £80 per person for Edinburgh deliveries only on 23 and 24 December.

This popular Glasgow Italian deli and restaurant is offering an easy cook at home option for Christmas.

Posting on their social media, the Eusebi team said: "Whatever size our xmas get togethers are this year, there’s always room for spectacular food. Making Christmas dining at home easy.

"All our meals , roasts , platters and desserts are prepared by our chefs, using the same quality ingredients from independent local producers as we do in the restaurant. Zero effort, 100% Taste!

Hawksmoor

As well as offering cocktail delivery, this steak chain also has a festive box, which you can order until 30 December. £5 from each box sent out will be split between City Harvest, Wood St Mission and Soul Food Edinburgh.

Kyloe and McLarens on the Corner

The team at Kyloe Restaurant & Grill have joined forces with McLarens on the Corner to create a gourmet Christmas dinner at home. Collection is available for free at McLarens on the Corner, 8 Morningside Road, Edinburgh, EH10 4DD. Delivery is also available for £5.

Root to Market

From the team behind Fhior, Root to Market’s Christmas offering is available to pre-order now. Choose from a selection of fresh meat, game, fruit and vegetables, plus ready-made dishes. All produce is sourced from the team’s favourite independent local suppliers. Delivery is free between EH1 - EH17 postcodes and collection is from the Secret Herb Garden.

The Pantry

The Pantry Christmas Dinner is available for delivery on Christmas Eve and priced at £24 per person. The traditional menu, which just needs heated up, can be catered for up to 6 people.

Milk cafes

MILK Cafes in Edinburgh have just launched their two course Christmas Grazing Platter with paired wine, in collaboration with L’Art du Vin. The platters come in original,  vegetarian or vegan and all of the selected wines are vegan friendly too.
