This year, Tesco will be offering customers the chance for a smaller, hassle-free dinner at home with its new Christmas dinner box sets - and there's even a vegan option.

Priced at £35 and made for two to share, the supermarket's first vegan Christmas dinner box includes 15 premium vegan Tesco products, such as a wellington made from pea protein and mushroom duxelles, to mimic a traditional beef wellington.

This vegan centrepiece is served alongside plant-based festive favourites such as herby stuffing balls and meat free cocktail bangers. Traditional trimmings like crispy roasties, thyme-roasted carrots, cranberry sauce and Brussels sprouts are also included.

A vegan Christmas pudding served with brandy sauce completes the meal.

For meat eaters, the Finest Christmas box for two includes traditional treats such as British turkey breast fillet wrapped in streaky bacon, pigs in blankets, goose fat roast potatoes, turkey gravy, sage and onion stuffing and a broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprout vegetable medley.

Diners can toast the day with a bottle of Tesco Finest Premier Cru Champagne. Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, the fizz has extra-long ageing in the bottle, resulting in flavours of citrus and green apple. Also included in the box for two are Christmas crackers.

How to order it

Customers can order online through the supermarket’s Festive Food to Order service for either Click and Collect, or to have a box delivered straight to their door. Alternatively, shoppers can pick one up in person at selected stores.

Orders can be made from 7am on Friday 13 November.  However, those who would rather buy in person can do so in 96 stores nationwide from Sunday 20 December.
