Twitter reacts to viral American TikTok video for 'British tea'

Tea fans were not happy at this viral TikTok video.

TikTok user Jchelle36 posted a video on how to make 'British tea' and fans of a good cuppa are outraged.

The American, who lives in the UK, posted a short film explaining that people are keen for her to show how British tea is made.

Her take on the quintessentially British beverage involved cold water being added to a mug and put in the microwave to heat, before added milk then a teabag.

Another added: "I am American, but even I know that is not how to make British tea correctly."

Other comments included that the video was an act of war and many questioned the lack of kettle and putting milk in the water before the teabag.

This isn't the first controversial tea video from Jchelle36.

A few weeks ago she posted about making 'hot tea' which involved instant Lipton ice tea powder, Tang (a flavoured powdered drink mix), country time lemonade, two cups of sugar, cinnamon and clove mixed together.

A few teaspoons of this mixture was added to a hot mug of water (which had been heated again in the microwave).

Although the general reaction to both videos has been of anger, fake or otherwise, many believe that she is trolling and knows the reactions her videos will get.

Tea has become a hot topic is recent days, with Yorkshire Tea and PG Tips joining forces to tell Black Lives Matter critics to no longer buy their tea - using the hashtag #solidaritea
