Tomorrow (Monday 27 August) marks the end of the Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh's summer festival season, with the Castle taking centre stage for the annual fireworks display.

Treat yourself to a very special evening in wonderful surroundings at the Waldorf Astoria’s special fireworks seven-course tasting menu.

The Pompadour by Galvin, Head Chef, Daniel Ashmore has designed a very special menu to ensure the perfect finale for the end of this year’s Edinburgh International and Fringe Festivals.

On Monday 27th August ahead of the firework display in Princes Street Gardens, The Pompadour will be serving a sparkling seven course tasting menu that will certainly guarantee the festival goes out with a bang.

Highlights from the Firework Dinner tasting menu that will send sparks flying include: raviolo of scallops and langoustines, oyster and chive dressing and iceberg lettuce;  pepper glazed Goosnargh duck, orange, turnip and confit leg and dark chocolate parfait served with Scottish blackberries and blackberry leaf ice cream.

Following dinner guests will be invited to take a front row seat to watch the award-winning firework display illuminate the sky.

Guests will be able to enjoy the stunning views of the fireworks from the large Castle-facing windows in the restaurant.

Usually The Pompadour is closed on Mondays, however Daniel and his team intend to light up the diner’s night on the 27 with an unforgettable menu.

“The Pompadour is definitely the perfect spot to view the display and celebrate the end of another amazing festival – a memorable occasion not to be missed.”

The menu is priced at £125 per person and there is the option of adding wine pairings that have been hand-selected by Sommelier, Damien Trinckquel for an additional £75 per person.

The Principal George Hotel

As Edinburgh’s summer festival season comes to a close, The Principal George Hotel be hosting a party on the roof of the award winning George Street hotel.

The threesixty:forth pop-up bar features stunning views of the city and is the perfect spot to watch the end of festival fireworks.

The evening starts at 7.30pm with one of their signature cocktails and some delicious snacks from the kitchen will be served throughout the night.

The resident DJ will be providing a soundtrack to the evening until the Edinburgh International Festival fireworks display begins, when they’ll be showing the accompanying concert from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
